Located just northeast of Austin. Hutto has been known as the “Hippo Capital of Texas”.  There are over 4,000 status of hippos throughout the town and legend suggests an escaped circus hippo nestled itself in the creek and the ordeal to recapture it was so great the town became fixated on hippos.  They quickly adopted the hippo as the high school mascot in 1915.

Hutto, like many cities around Austin, is fast growing.  The Golf Club at Star Ranch is one of the best public golf courses  in Texas.  Hutto is close to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.  If you’re into the outdoors Hutto offers the popular 3 mile long Cottonwood Trail.
